Job Description
To manage the execution of the operational requirements of the warehouse in support of the logistics strategy in an efficient and cost-effective manner so that service excellence to other departments and the customer can be ensured. The role will report to the Warehouse Team Leader.
Key Duties & Responsibilities
To manage the execution of the operational requirements of the warehouse in support of the logistics strategy in an efficient and cost-effective manner so that service excellence to other departments and the customer can be ensured. The role will report to the Warehouse Team Leader.
Skills, Experience & Education
- Supply Chain Diploma or 3-year relevant equivalent Grade 12 O level certificate with 5 credits or better
- Membership of professional supply chain or procurement bodies would be advantageous
- 3-5 years warehousing and/ or logistics experience in an FMCG environment
- Knowledge of Syspro/Flow centric would be advantageous
Competencies Knowledge:
- Sound knowledge of all Warehouse Processes (and accountable parties) and understanding of inter-relationships between processes
- Deep understanding of the Settlement, Proof of Delivery and Stock Management Processes
- Deep insight into warehouse performance measures and levers that impact on the achievement of measures
- Sound Financial acumen
- Knowledge to enable effective Asset Care
- Sound systems knowledge (MSD)
- Leading understanding of key performance indicators within the Warehouse
- Understanding of key performance indicators within Distribution that are impacted by the Warehouse
- Sound knowledge of HR and IR policies and the application thereof
Skills:
- Sound management of employee relations and the creation of a healthy IR climate
- Effective coaching ability
- Effective team management through team and individual development
- Ability to show imitative within the confines of process adherence
- Ability to make immediate decisions based on information gathering, knowledge of warehouse processes, and an understanding of the desired outcome
- Ability to utilize technology
- Strong ability to ensure the achievement of operational standards in terms of rate of work within team
